Vacation Rentals in Lake Tahoe FAQs
Q: How do I make a reservation?
A: Once you have found the perfect vacation rental home that is available for your dates you have two options. You can enter all of you information online and print out a contract, complete the four pages, and fax it back to us with you credit card information; or you can call one of our reservation specialists to put together a contract for you. They will send the contract to you through an electronic signature program call DocuSign. Once we have the completed contract back into our office via fax or DocuSign we will send you a confirmation email. Your reservation is not confirmed until you fax or DocuSign your signed contract back to us with a credit card number to hold the reservation.
Q: Will my credit card be charged immediately?
A: YES. Once we confirm the signed Agreement, Renter is obligated for the full rental payment. A reservation fee of 25% of the base rent is due immediately upon confirmation of the Agreement (please note that the deposit for American Express is 50%.) Once paid, the reservation fee is for services rendered in entering into this Agreement and is NONREFUNDABLE. The balance of the base rent and other charges specified above is due eight (8) weeks prior to arrival (day of arrival for American Express). If the Agreement is entered into less than eight (8) weeks prior to arrival, all amounts are due immediately upon confirmation of the Agreement (with the exception of American Express which stays at 50% upon receipt of the contract and 50% day of arrival).
Exception: Vacation Rental Insurance coverage begins from the time of payment of the premium, so we do ask for that payment immediately.
Q: Do you ask for a check for my security deposit?
A: NO. We ask that you supply a credit card. Any damage amounts or breach of contract fees will be charged to your card.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Once we receive the signed contract, Renter is obligated to pay the full rental payment. If renter cancels the reservation after Owner receives the signed contract, Owner will attempt to rebook the Premises at the same rate. If Owner is able to rebook the Premises at the same rate, Renter will receive a refund less 25% reservation fee. If Owner is able to rebook Premises at a lower rate, Renter will receive a refund in the amount of the rebooked rental, less 25% of the rental amount. If Owner is unable to rebook the Premises, Renter’s rental payment, excluding Hotel Tax and departure clean, will be forfeited. We recognize that this is a strict policy, however, these homes are in high demand and renter must be fully committed before making the reservation.
Q: Why should I purchase travel insurance?
A; Because of our strict cancellation policy, we recommend travel insurance to cover you in case you have to cancel. Once on your vacation, travel insurance covers you and your party in case of injury or illness, natural disasters or unexpected family emergencies that might cause you to cut your trip short. While on your vacation, CSA (our insurance provider) offers a 24 hour nurse hotline, legal referral, lost ticket and baggage assistance, and many other benefits.
