July 11-12 weekend will be full of events with summer is in full swing. With so much to choose from, we put together our staffs' top picks, including some of our favorite events of the summer! The Art, Wine, & Music festival at Squaw Valley, the Truckee Tahoe Airport Air Show & Family Festival, a Barbecue at the Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center, and a Naturalist Guided Hike from the Squaw Valley Tram are guaranteed ways to ensure your Tahoe weekend is packed with fun for everyone. 

Art, Wine, and Music Festival at Squaw Valley (July 11-12)

On July 11th and 12th, Squaw Valley will experience a flow of talent and tastiness for anyone to experience. The Art, Wine, and Music festival will feature artists of every kind for your entertainment. For the adult crowd, a wine tasting takes place from 2-5pm, both days. There will be  plenty of food vendors and two performance stages for you to listen to the music you love. All proceeds benefit the Disabled Sports USA Far West.

Airshow and Family Festival (July 11)

The sky will be swirling with planes on July 11 from 9am-4pm at the Truckee Tahoe Airport for this veteran themed event. Planes and a helicopter named Otto will twist and twirl through the air for exciting spectating. Arrive early for the opening ceremony and a no host breakfast. You may enjoy this wonderful event for FREE! Or, purchase a VIP pass for $45 in advance and $50 at the gate, which will allow you prime flight view with shade, tables, chairs, and a catered lunch by the Crest Cafe.

Saturday Night Barbecue at the Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center (July 11)

On July 11th, head to the Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center, for a family-friendly barbecue. Fun games for everyone include a family water balloon toss and a piñata! 5-7:30pm with varying entrance fees. 

Naturalist Hike (July 12) 

Will Richardson is a local naturalist guiding hikes from High Camp at Squaw Valley. Learn about the birds, flowers, and geology of the area while enjoying the beautiful view on top of Squaw Valley. Bring snacks and water and dress appropriately for this one-mile scenic hike. Meeting time is 10:40am at the Squaw Valley Tram. The hike is free, however hikers pay for the Tram ride. TINS members receive a $10 discount.

Concerts at Commons Beach (July 12)

This Sunday, SambaDa, the west coast's hottest Brazilian band, will bring their funk and reggae sound to Tahoe City. Enjoy the free outdoor show with the family and enjoy the backdrop of Lake Tahoe. Music begins at 4pm. Bring chairs to lounge and enjoy local food vendors or your picnic from home.
