Happy Halloween! Tahoe Halloween Event Guide 2009

Tahoe City is looking pretty scary these days with all the scarecrows, ghosts, and goblins hanging around town in preparation for Halloween. Our own scarecrow in a snow bank is decidedly less than frightening, unless you think about all the shoveling that might be happening this winter if El Nino hits! Be sure to cast your vote for your favorite five scarecrows by downloading a ballot from the Tahoe City Downtown Association. You could win a $25 gift certificate just for voting!

Commons Beach, Tahoe City

We packed up a picnic, launched our boat around 4, and headed to Tahoe City. We anchored just off of Commons Beach where we were treated to the sounds of Norton Buffalo. From the water, it looked like the beach was packed with people dancing and having a really great time. It was a beautiful day. We had a blast, and it was a great way to finish up the weekend. Every Sunday Commons Beach in Tahoe City hosts free music from 4-7pm. This is an amazing local event. Going on its 3rd year, Tahoe locals hope this event stays around for awhile. Fun for the whole family, low back chairs and blankets are allowed as well as food and drinks. Here is the schedule for the rest of the summer:

Lake of the Sky Garden Tour

I went on the Lake of the Sky Garden Tour. I had never gone before and was pleasantly surprised at how great it was. I had the opportunity to tour a total of 10 homes, five of which were Tahoe lakefronts. The gardens were fantastic and many had amazing water features. For an added touch, in the backyard of each of the homes, there were local artists’ paintings and artwork. I was proud to see that TLUXP had three homes on the tour this year, Greystone, Seek No Further, and Aspen Grove. These beautifully manicured yards will be worth enjoying well into the fall. Come stay in one of these homes, or any of our other homes soon. These next few months in Tahoe are my very favorite.

Rain in Tahoe!

Well, yes, it finally rained a few drops over Lake Tahoe this past Sunday. Although we all love the sunshine the rain is welcomed every now and then due to the lack of it! There is no more rain in the forecast-the next week is sunny and clear with highs in the low 80s, typical Tahoe summer weather. There is some great music headed to Lake Tahoe this week.
