High above the Village at Squaw Valley, a tram ride or a hike away, sits the scenic High Camp. With a swimming pool, hot tubs, rollerskating, hiking, disc golf, dining and more, this playground at 8200′ offers a day of family fun. It’s a calm Monday in Tahoe; perfect for a relaxing day off. I leave my Tahoe City home looking to do something exciting yet peaceful. What better than to stroll around town looking at art? The fall weather is a perfect reason to stop by Tahoe City’s Sips, where you can select your own beer or wine from the diverse market and then have it poured into a mason jar to sip in the tiny, cozy bar there. One quick drink is enough to warm up a little before heading into the chill air and popping over to the Eadington Gallery next door.
With two villages and four town centers in North Lake Tahoe, there is plenty of shopping in the area, so that you can find the perfect Tahoe memento. Dozens of shops, from local boutiques to art galleries to mountain home decor and as many sports shops as you need, offer unique gifts not found other places. So treat yourself to a little retail therapy.
