Celebrating five years in sublime North Lake Tahoe, we love the spring vibe of WinterWonderGrass Squaw! WinterWonderGrass is a 3-day celebration with four stages of bluegrass, jamgrass, and roots music, plus a beer garden featuring local breweries, local food, kids zone, plus pop-up performances around the ski resort and village. The outdoor venue is set against backdrop of the remarkable Tram Face of Squaw Valley.

The 46th annual Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance was another huge success and the most well-attended show of its history! With a Marque Class of Original Tahoe Boats, this year’s show highlighted the history of wooden boats on Lake Tahoe. We were thrilled to host the Tahoe Fund’s annual Summer Kick-Off Party on Sunday, July 1 at The Brushwood Estate. Top donors and Tahoe Fund stewards were invited for appetizers and cocktails as a thank you for their support and to hear about the Tahoe Fund’s upcoming initiatives. The annual event was their best ever attended with over 130 guests, with many arriving by boat!

There’s a lot to do in summer, especially with great weather, extended daylight hours, and the sun shining bright on our favorite lake, Tahoe! Everyone is outside in summer, so it’s a great time to get out there and join your friends! Here are some of Tahoe’s best free summertime events:

Our summerlong music series offers free music almost every night of the week in the most beautiful venues. Family-friendly and fun for everyone, bring your friends, pack a picnic, and enjoy music against the backdrop of the stunning Sierras and Lake Tahoe!

The Tahoe City Wine Walk has been a start-of-summer favorite. Now in its 13th year, the event has expanded to become the “Tahoe City Food & Wine Classic,” expanding to incorporate a new cuisine element. Sip wine from over 30 tasting stations while you stroll along our quaint lakeside downtown, enjoying the sunshine and great company.

Get in the holiday spirit with a week of festivities celebrating Independence Day at Lake Tahoe. Don’t miss the spectacular fireworks displays, plus parades, concerts, and tons of fun events for the family!

Run, bike and swim your heart out. Lake Tahoe is the perfect place for triathlons due to our excellent training ground for all three portions of the competition. Athletes, keep in mind, Lake Tahoe is at elevation 6250′, so, if you are coming from sea level, you will want to give yourself time to acclimate. Also, Lake Tahoe has some colder temps, so you’ll want to arrive early with some time to adjust, and, of course, enjoy our beautiful area. Here’s a look at upcoming events for triathletes:

It’s no mistake that Tahoe is home to bike culture. The rocky, rugged trails around the lake running up and down the peaks of the Sierra Nevada (the Tahoe Rim Trail, to name one) are perfect for mountain biking. And, the scenic, curving highway around the lake is perfect for road biking. So it makes sense that Truckee would be a great host for the Sagan Fondo bike race, coming May 3-5.

Looking for something family friendly, a little different, and full of great music and food? Truckee’s Craw Thaw, which is the first of what hopes to become an annual event, is just the place. On April 27-28, this New Orleans-inspired street party will fill downtown Truckee with live music, Cajun food, and family fun. All offerered for FREE!
