There are very few places we can think of where history, luxurious craftsmanship, and natural alpine beauty come together like Lake Tahoe. This past weekend, Tahoe’s idyllic West Shore provided the perfect setting for the 52nd Anniversary of the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance, a timeless summer tradition showcasing classically restored wooden boats and a special Marquee Class, the iconic Italian-designed Riva boats.
For us at Tahoe Luxury Properties, this weekend was another highlight of our year. As the premier partner and sponsor of the Concours d’Elegance, we’re honored to be a part of a beloved community event that embodies and celebrates everything that makes Tahoe summers so special: dedicated classic craftsmanship, community, a deep connection to the lake, and an appreciation for experiences that are adored by all generations.
The heart and soul of the Concours d’Elegance is the boat exhibit at Obexer’s Marina. As North America’s Premier Wooden Boat Show, the Lake Tahoe Concours prides itself on displaying some of the most exceptional displays of preserved and restored wooden boats, and giving attendees a chance to not only witness true craftsmanship, but interact with the owners and learn about the rich maritime history in the process.
The event itself is an entire experience. Obexer’s Marina transforms into an open-air museum, and features live jazz music, luxury vendor booths, cuisine, wine village, and auctions. On Saturday, the traditional and much-anticipated Olson Bridge Roar-Off commenced, showcasing the boats in action.
It’s also a chance to give back. A portion of the proceeds is given directly back to the community through The Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation, aiming to help preserve the environment and rich history of the region.
