Tahoe Life

When bringing the whole family to beautiful Lake Tahoe, vacation rentals offer the feeling of being at home, with the ability to cook meals, share family time, and even lounge on the deck. Maybe you are choosing the home by proximity to an event you are attending or activities you plan to do. Perhaps you are looking for a lakefront home, a home with a hot tub or pool table, or ski-in and ski-out access. As Tahoe locals, familiar with all the neighborhoods, subdivisions, and gated communities, one insight we offer is to consider the Homeowners Association (HOA) amenities. Here at the Lake, many HOAs provide private beach access to sandy beaches that are not open to the public. Some also offer tennis courts, swimming pools, pier use, rec center and fitness facilities, picnic areas, and more.

Here is a list of the HOA Amenties you will have access to when you rent a home in these neighborhoods:

Dollar Point, Tahoe City North Shore

The desirable Dollar Point neighborhood in Tahoe City is centrally located to town, trails in summer, and skiing in winter. Homes in this subdivision have access to neighborhood amenities including a beautiful large sandy beach with volleyball and picnic areas, community pier, swimming pool, lakeside tennis courts as well as poolside tennis courts.

Northstar, Truckee

In addition to having an unbeatable location for enjoying skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and golf, Northstar’s private community features a fitness center, a main pool as well as splash pool for children with swimming lessons available, hot tubs, tennis center, youth center, and an adult lounge. Homes in Northstar offer a free on-demand shuttle service, so you can avoid driving (and parking!) when you head out to the village or to ski.

Tahoe Donner, Truckee

Tahoe Donner is a forested community nestled in Truckee with many amenities available to residents and guests. The Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Center and Downhill Ski Resort are open to the public in winter and centrally located in the neighborhood, as well as a snow play hill next to the recreation center. Guests who stay in Tahoe Donner have access to the rec center with a fitness facility, swimming pool, hot tubs and saunas, as well as tennis courts near the Clubhouse. Guests will also enjoy access to a private beach on Donner Lake with kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes available to rent. The Tahoe Donner golf course, equestrian center, Bikeworks center with rentals, and trail system are open to the public.

Incline Village, Nevada

Incline Village is a town which is unique in that it is General Improvement District offering amenities to Incline Village residents. While the two golf courses and the rec center with a swimming pool, tennis, indoor basketball and fitness center are open to the public, they are very convenient to guests staying in this area. Non-lakefront homes in Incline Village also come with access to three private Incline Village beaches that also include access to boat launches.

Tahoe Park, Tahoe City West Shore

The restaurant is a great place for a meal or you can grab a snack or light groceries at West Shore Market next door. Two nearby piers offer a convenient loading area for boaters or access point for swimmers and sunbathers. The private park for residents also offers a private beach with volleyball, as well as horseshoe pits, a basketball court, swing sets, and numerous picnic ares.
