There's a reason they call it Home Run: this Big Springs Northstar retreat lets you clip into your skis right in the backyard and glide down Home Run Trail straight to Highlands Gondola, snow conditions permitting, of course. Come lunchtime or day's end, skip the parking lots, the shuttle lines, and the boot-carrying entirely, and ski right back to your own front door instead. It's the kind of convenience that changes the whole rhythm of a ski trip, giving you more time on the mountain and less time getting to and from it. When you're ready for a change of scenery, it's just a short walk to the shops, restaurants, and ice rink at Northstar Village, or hop the gondola for a quick trip over to the Ritz-Carlton for a drink with a view.

Step inside and the home opens up into a huge, light-filled great room with a truly open floor plan, the kind of space that makes everyone want to gather in one place. Walls of windows pull in tons of natural sunshine and frame gorgeous, sweeping mountain views that change with the light throughout the day. NORTHSTAR PROPERTY OWNER ASSOCIATION AMENITIES
The NPOA Recreation Center provides guests with access to three pools (lap pool open year round), two hot tubs, dry saunas, fitness facility, game/arcade room, tennis courts, summer camps and clinics, bocce ball & basketball, nature trail, kids playground, massages, swim lessons and summer activities for a daily guest fee. Free shuttles operate between Northstar homes and the Village center.

At Northstar California resort, winter offers downhill skiing & snowboarding plus a cross-country and snowshoe center. Summer offers a lift-accessed mountain bike park and golf. The Village at Northstar offers dining, entertainment, spa services, and shopping options with numerous restaurants and shops, a movie theater, ice skating/roller skating rink, and more. Please note that during the Spring and Fall seasons, when Northstar's winter and summer mountain operations are closed, the Village restaurants and retail outlets run on a modified schedule. Expect limited dining and shopping options during these periods - typically between the end of ski season through late June and after Labor Day through mid-November.

Travel Insurance 

Travel Insurance is offered through Rental Guardian. If you purchase travel insurance, it is designed to cover prepaid, nonrefundable expenses in the event of certain unforeseen circumstances that may impact your trip. Travel protection may be purchased directly through our secure portal at any time during the booking process, and in some cases may be added to an existing reservation, subject to eligibility requirements. Please note: Travel insurance is not available for reservations over $150,000. 

The two coverage options are Standard Travel Protection or Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) Protection. The Standard Travel Protection is available to residents of the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec), and select international countries. Coverage may be purchased at the time of booking or up to 24 hours prior to check-in. The Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) Protection is available to residents of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec and New York). This coverage must be purchased within 14 days of the initial booking and is not available for reservations made within 30 days of arrival.

Pet Policy 

Not all homes allow pets. For the homes that consider pets, written approval is required PRIOR to allowing any pet to be present at the property at any time. If approval is granted, a Pet Addendum must be signed and a pet fee must be paid. Only approved dogs are permitted. Dogs under one year of age, cats, or any other pets are not allowed. We are happy to assist in locating a dog-friendly home for you. 

What is Provided at Your Vacation Rental Home 

Our homes are fully stocked with essentials so you can relax upon arrival. Before packing, view our complete Home Supply List. Once the booking is confirmed you will be provided a link to login to your personal guest portal. This portal will provide essential details about your vacation rental, such as directions to the property, key access, appliance usage instructions, Wi-Fi code, restaurant recommendations, and check-out procedures. 

Mail & Package Delivery 

USPS does not deliver to your vacation rental home. Mail sent via USPS will be returned. Use FedEx or UPS for deliveries during your stay. Do not leave food deliveries unattended. It will attract wildlife, especially bears. 

If you need to send packages before your arrival, contact our office to arrange delivery to our business address via UPS or FedEx. 

With Ship Skis you can arrange door-to-door transportation for your ski gear and luggage straight to your Tahoe Luxury Properties vacation rental and back home.  

Outdoor Furniture, BBQ Grills & Fire Pits 

Patio furniture is available from Memorial Day Weekend through early fall (weather permitting). Furniture is stored during winter months to prevent damage. 

Most homes have gas BBQs available year-round. Please inquire if this is an essential amenity for your winter stay. Charcoal grills, wood-burning fire pits, and open flames are strictly prohibited. 

On Red Flag Warning days (high fire risk), the use of gas BBQs and fire pits are strictly prohibited. It is Renter's responsibility to know if a red flag warning has been issued. Stay informed by tuning into 1630 AM radio; following the North Tahoe Fire Protection District on Facebook or Twitter (X); checking signage outside district fire stations; reviewing the National Weather Service forecast. Bear Safety 

Black bears are active in both Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Improper food storage can lead to serious property damage and safety issues. Do not leave food, trash, or scented items outdoors or in your vehicle. Always lock the doors and windows of the home and your car when unattended. Intentionally leaving food out for bears is illegal. Review our Bear Aware Addendum for more information on staying safe and protecting our local wildlife. 

Boating: Buoys & Piers 

If your rental includes buoy or pier access, please refer to the Buoy, Mooring Line, and Pier Addendum for full details. 

Piers are for pick-up/drop-off only (max 30 minutes). Never leave boats unattended or anchored without supervision. 

Lake Tahoe water levels varying depending on seasonal snowfall, affecting the depth for safe pier access.  

Check weather conditions before venturing out and be advised that Lake Tahoe weather can change quickly. 

Winter Driving (Nov 1st – April 30th) 

Driving in the snow-covered mountains of California and Nevada can be both enjoyable and occasionally challenging. Roads and driveways may be steep or icy, and conditions can change quickly. To ensure safe and smooth travel, the California Highway Patrol offers valuable winter driving tips. You can find more information from the CHP here. Make sure your vehicle is winter-ready, with brakes, tires, wipers, and the heater all in top condition. All vehicles, including AWD/4WD, should carry properly-sized tire chains.

Short-Term Rental County Rules 

Tahoe Luxury Properties manages homes across five counties, each with specific regulations for short-term rental permits. We appreciate your cooperation in following these rules, which are also included in your signed Vacation Rental Agreement. 

Maximum Occupancy: No gatherings, events, weddings, or group functions exceeding the occupancy limit listed in your agreement are allowed. 

Parking: Street parking is prohibited. All vehicles, boats, and trailers must be parked in the garage or driveway. 

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are from 9 pm to 8 am, seven days a week. Noise should not be heard from the property line. Please keep noise levels low to avoid disturbing neighbors. 

Lights Out: Exterior lights must be turned off between 10 pm and 7 am unless necessary for safety. All lights must be turned off to prevent nuisance to neighbors. 

Trash: Due to wildlife in the area, trash must be stored in the metal, bear-resistant trash bin provided. Trash day is posted at the home. Do not leave trash outside. 

Hot Tub: The hot tub can only be used between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm. 

Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside or outside the home.

Beautiful Home! This was a beautiful home to stay in, we’d hike in the back, wake up to Mountain View’s, looked at the stars on the patio, and cooked in the beautiful kitchen. We were about 20-30 mins from King’s Beach and was in reach of a lot activities. We’d definitely recommend and stay again!

Fabulous House Could not have asked for a better house to stay in for my family. There were 11 of us staying in the house. It slept us all comfortably, the common areas were spacious, and the kitchen was the most well-equipped kitchen ever! Everything was spotless, clean, and very well organized when we arrived. There were two refrigerators, which was a huge help. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. Also, I have to mention Tahoe Luxury Properties, the rental company, they were very responsive and professional- any time I had a question, they replied almost immediately. When we needed the trash to be picked up, they came within an hour or 2. Allison, our contact there, was so helpful, as well as the rest of the staff. We will definitely use this company when we return to Tahoe and, hopefully, stay in the same house.

Great House and Property Location! We had a mini family reunion with one of my siblings family. There were 10 of us in total and there was plenty of room for everyone. Everything was in great working order and the kitchen is well-stocked for any of your cooking needs. We made lunches daily for the skiers and the location was perfect for them to get in and out of. There are also plenty of activities within the house including many games and puzzles to keep everyone occupied. The hot tub is also a plus although its not very big, perhaps 5-6 people may be able to squeeze in. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a family gathering whatever time of the year that you are traveling.

A Fabulous Home! This is a spacious and comfortable home for 12 people. We loved the well-equipped kitchen--especially two ovens, two dishwashers, a six-burner stove, and lots of dishes and glasses. There are a lot of stairs and the driveway, although heated, is steep. The location is great as we could walk to the village instead of taking the shuttle or ski-in/ski-out. We've stayed at several houses in the area and this was our favorite.

Super Awesome House for Skiing We had such a wonderful time at this house. Having ski in and ski out made having a ski / work / family vacation so stress free. The house has ample private and shared space and having the hot tub made the experience sublime. We will stay again if we head to NorthStar next year.

Beautiful home in great location We loved our stay! The home was stocked with everything we needed for our week. We enjoyed cooking all our meals in the beautiful kitchen, the beds were comfy, the hike up the backyard hill was fabulous, the view off every balcony was great, there is plenty of seating to enjoy a meal from Anywhere outside or in, the game table was great too. We loved having a bathroom in or near each room and different levels of the home offers privacy to each guest. 5 stars!!

Great location, stocked kitchen and lots of room The house is very well stocked for a rental, loads of extra pillows, kitchen supplies, even games and puzzles. Could walk down a trail to the North Star Village. Lots of room to relax with large kitchen and family room. Great hot tub, we just turned it up a little higher when we got there and it was good to go. We enjoyed the gas fireplace when the unexpected September snow came! Only complaint is that for such a nice house the beds could use an upgrade. Very hard and the sheets were extremely uncomfortable. Had to search for an adequate pillow, but found extras in the closet that weren't thin.

Outstanding Customer Service I am so grateful to the wonderful folks at Tahoe Luxury Properties. They helped us out above and beyond normal duties when our plans for a family reunion hit a snag. Their professionalism and customer service was excellent throughout our stay. They kept us informed and worked with us during the stay when a few things needed attention. Beautiful Home and Amazing Location! The Home Run Property is just that. It’s a beautiful home in an amazing location. We enjoyed peaceful walks as well as time in the hot tub. The room layout was perfect and the amount of seating was perfect for our large group. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could think of to prepare meals. Our family enjoyed our time at the house immensely. We will be sure to stay there again if we find ourselves in Tahoe. Thanks for a great vacation.

Absolutely Amazing! This was an absolutely amazing place to stay. I went with 8 of my closest friends from college (in our late 20s now), and we had the best time. Everything was clean, and there was so much room! Nothing felt cramped. The only small improvement that could be made was with the hot tub. It was right outside the house but filling the hot tub took some energy and keeping it at a warm temperature was difficult. Otherwise, everything was perfect. They were even able to accommodate a late check-out, which made our last day so much easier.

Perfect for large family We enjoyed the Homerun rental very much. Thank you for allowing us to bring our dogs and for the special TLUXP welcome gifts. The house is perfect for a large group, like ours. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with every appliance and utensil we needed for big, home cooked meals. We all enjoyed the ski in/out option – it was an adventure in such deep powder! We will certainly contact you when we travel to Northstar again in the future. Ski in/out can't be beat This house is beautiful and very well equipped for large family’s. We hope to rent again next year! We felt welcomed and at home from the minute we arrived, and throughout our stay. The house is spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The kitchen had all the appliances and utensils we needed to prepare big family meals. The ski in/out location can’t be beat! We were especially happy to have our dogs with us on our vacation.

Great Home to Host Large Group We held our 21th annual friend’s ski trip. There were 9 guys and we all had our own bed. It’s a great large house with the living area and kitchen area that was easy to support the siZe of our group. Our only complaint is that the hot tub is small (probably 3-4 people max) and is a walk out the back to get into it.

A great place for a large family This home was large enough and so comfortable to fit the entire family. It was one of the nicest homes I have ever rented and would love to rent it again. Only down part was the drive way and you could see right through the bedroom blinds. Everything else was perfect.

Disappointed The location of the house was great but the quality of the home was disappointing. One bathroom did not have running water and there was a bug infestation we had to deal with the entire visit. This house was not up to TLUXP standards and we could not believe it was a house offered on their site. The wear and tear of the house were very apparent and need to clean up dead bugs was disgusting. This house could be a great property if they clean and fix the place up. Wish the owner took responsibility for poor care of their house. Will not be staying here again.

best family vacation Great house. You can ski in ski out. A hot tub on the property that all the kids loved. We took the whole family so it was 9 of us. Everyone loved it. Plenty of room and the kitchen was so well equipped we made breakfast and dinner there every night. We just had the best time. And the management company was so easy to deal with. Early checkin and late check out. So very nice.

Coudn't have been better Absolutely loved our stay at Home Run! House was stunning . We had 4 great days of skiing . Loved everything about the home. The hot tub gave us some problems with its size and holding temperature, but other than that our stay could not have been better!
