Tahoe's Ahwahnee was constructed and modeled with Yosemite's grand lodge, The Ahwahnee, in mind. With a distinct and wonderful feeling in their own Tahoe lodge, the attention to detail is apparent throughout the house. The first floor features hand-planed pecan floors and a spectacular granite stone, wood-burning fireplace. In addition to granite and limestone counters throughout the house, the primary suite bath has handset tumbled stone mosaics. To top it off, the unobstructed panoramic lake view is unsurpassed. In fact, you can enjoy this beautiful lake view from every room in the house.

The house is also great for family fun. The bunk room features pine log bunk beds, a hand painted mural of local flora and fauna, and hand-carved bear cubs and squirrels. Other carved pieces throughout the home include the family room mantel, staircase panels and great room support posts. The children's bath and family entry include petroglyph story tiles of mountains and animals etched into the slate. The kitchen features a large cook top island and top-of-the-line specialty appliances. The beds in all the bedrooms are so cozy you may never want to leave. This is not just a rental, it is a home that the owners are willing to share with our guests. This home is our slice of heaven.

Centrally located, Tahoe's Ahwahnee vacation rental is ideally located for year-round enjoyment. In the winter you'll find many options for world-class skiing with Northstar California, Palisades Tahoe, Homewood Mountain Resort, and Diamond Peak Resort all less than 15 miles away. The cross-country ski center is only two miles away and many trails for snowshoeing and snowmobiling can be discovered from the neighborhood. In the summer, biking and hiking trails surround the home. Common's Beach, with farmers' markets, outdoor music, Truckee River rafting, and kayak rentals, is just four miles down the road, along with the shops, ropes course and restaurants of downtown Tahoe City. Kings Beach (with abundant water recreational rentals/activities and golf), Nevada stateline and casinos on Tahoe's North Shore are less than eight miles from the home. Additionally, beautiful Incline Village and its Championship Golf Course in Nevada are just twelve miles from the house. Or, spend the afternoon visiting historic downtown Truckee with boutique shops carrying the works of local artisans, a wide array of dining options and landmarks & museums that showcase the area's rich history. Head to Tahoe's East Shore to explore Sand Harbor beach or the famed Tahoe East Shore Trail, a paved path that lines the picturesque boulder-lined shore of Lake Tahoe, offering breathtaking views and awe-inspiring photo opportunities. While it may be hard to leave the comforts of this lakeview vacation rental, there is certainly no shortage of nearby activities for all ages to fill your Tahoe days.

Payment Terms

Minimum Night Requirements vary by property, season and arrival date. Online booking is available when your length of stay meets the minimum night requirements. If you would like a shorter stay than required online, please call or email our office, and we will be happy to accommodate your request whenever possible.
Payment Terms: Upon confirmation of the Vacation Rental Agreement, 25% of the base rent (and pet fee, if applicable), as well the full amount of travel insurance (if selected), is due. The balance of the base rent, cleaning fee, and Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) are due 60 days prior to arrival. If the Agreement is entered into less than 60 days prior to arrival, the total amount is due in full with the signed Agreement. For all payments paid by credit card, a non-refundable credit card processing fee of 3.8% will be added to the total amount. Please inquire and/or review the Vacation Rental Agreement for additional information.
Cancellation Policy: For stays that are 29 nights or less, a written cancellation must be received 60 days prior to the arrival date. For stays that are 30-59 nights, a written cancellation must be received 90 days prior to the arrival date. For stays that are 60 nights or longer, a written cancellation must be received 120 days prior to the arrival date. For cancellations made prior to the non-refundable deadline, a 10% cancellation fee is applied. This fee is subject to applicable county TOT. Cancellations made after the canclleation deadlines will not be refunded. Travel insurance premiums are non-refundable at all times.
Travel Insurance is offered through CSA/Generali Global Assistance. Insurance covers the cost of a cancellation or trip interruption due to unforeseen conditions such as illness or road closures. Coverage may be provided in certain circumstances for baggage delay, theft, medical & dental expenses, or emergency assistance. Please inquire for greater details and/or limitations.

The stay at this lakefront home was simply amazing. The location on the lake was incredible- every room offers a lake view. Sunrise from the balcony that took our breath away every morning. The house itself was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, exceeding expectations. The well-equipped kitchen and the comfortable bedrooms were especially loved.. The property manager was also very responsive to questions, making the check-in and check-out process smooth, left a cake and personalized message - made it very special- as were celebrating special occasion . can't wait to return!

It's incredible. The view of the lake is great. There are so, so many plates, utensils, bowls, pans, placemats, glasses, and containers that you can have any kind of family meal imaginable. There's a coffee grinder. There are so many bathrooms with many towels. The house was the right temperature. The master bedroom + master bath is bigger than my apartment. Basically everything about the house was perfect.

Perfect home for family gatherings. Downstairs is great for young ones to hang out with games, TV, and a small fridge. Plenty of beds and bathrooms for a family of 12. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked and the master bedroom is huge. The great room with its beautiful fireplace, architectural details, and amazing lake view is so inviting. It’s one of the nicest places I’ve ever rented. The management company was very pleasant to work with.

We selected this property based on the beautiful pictures of the house and the view. Still, I was concerned that the “real deal” wouldn’t be as nice as the pictures. In actuality, the opposite was true! The house and the view were actually more beautiful than the pictures! Our favorite part of the house was the incredible view of the lake. We spent as much time as possible out on the porch, eating meals, reading books, soaking in the sun, gazing at the stars. The house is perfectly positioned with the warm sun balancing the cool mornings, coupled with constant shade in the warmer afternoons. The house itself was very luxurious. It was first class in every way. Most rental houses appear to be just that....rental houses. This felt like we were close friends with the owner who was letting us stay in their personal residence while they were away. Every appliance and piece of furniture was first class. There is nothing cheap in this home! Also, the kitchen was furnished with everything you need to cook and prepare a gourmet meal. We didn’t have to run to the store to pick up kitchen items that weren’t available. Finally, I want to also give the highest reviews to the team at Tahoe Luxury Properties. They were incredibly accommodating with anything we needed. We had a service need when we were there, and they took care of it immediately. Our family also used their concierge services for boat rentals and restaurant reservations. Their great service saved us time and trouble and their recommendations were always excellent. We loved the Ahwahnee and we loved working with Tahoe Luxury Properties. We will use them again when we return, and we can’t recommend this house and this company high enough!

This is by far the best house in Tahoe I've ever stayed in - the place is clean, super cosy, the lake view is stunning! Love all the candles around the house and the real wood fireplace. The bedrooms are really nice, especially compared to other similar houses I've stayed before. The host was quick to respond and made sure we get all the information on time.

This place was great. We showed up at 11pm after a long flight, so waking up to the view of the lake was unbelievably nice. The view is AMAZING. Better than the pictures capture. Stayed here with a group of 12 adults and it was plenty of space for all of us to be comfortable. Short drive to Squaw Valley, golf courses nearby, hour drive from South Lake Tahoe. No complaints whatsoever, highly recommend.

This home is beautiful, even more so than the pictures. There is an amazing view from the lake from most of the bedrooms and the deck is a perfect place to take in the view over a cup of coffee or glass of wine. The house is well stocked and had everything we needed. The location is just a short drive from Tahoe City and not too far from Kings Beach and Incline Village. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again the next time I'm in Lake Tahoe, which I hope is sooner rather than later!

This house was everything I was looking for and more. I spent two years planning a trip to Lake Tahoe and over six months looking for the perfect house. We had a group of 9 adults and needed enough bedrooms for 4 couples and one single adult. From the moment we walked in the front do I couldn't have been more pleased. The owners have thought of every last detail. Each room is so well designed and decorated. The views from almost every room in the house are breathtaking. The kitchen is equipped with every thing you could need. They even supplied all the paper goods and cleaning supplies for a week long trip. The balcony has an amazing view as well as a great gas grill. I wouldn't change a thing and would love to stay here again if I can get back to Tahoe! The location on the Northshore is perfect. Close to the beach, restaurants, trails, biking and much more. Thank you for helping to make our trip the best!!

Another amazing experience renting from Tahoe Luxury Properties. For the past 7 years, we have rented vacation homes from Tahoe Luxury Properties. They make the experience complete and seamless. After agreeing to the contract, they offered additional concierge services to make our stay even more enjoyable. This includes notifying us of local events during our stay to in home massages and chef services. Prior to arrival, the team meticulously prepares the home and even sets it at a comfortable temperature. There have been other rentals companies where were arrived and it is freezing cold. They also have an on call hotline in case you have any questions or issues with your rental. It came in handy when we had a small question. Our call was immediately taken and question answered. Ahwahnee has an amazing view of Lake Tahoe. Breathtaking sunrises were a treat for our group. The home is cozy and was perfect for our group of 10. If you're staying and want activities in North Tahoe, this home is very convenient to Tahoe City not too far from north stateline / Reno.

What is Provided at Your Vacation Rental Home

Our homes are fully stocked with essentials so you can relax upon arrival. Before packing, view our complete Home Supply List. Once the booking is confirmed you will be provided a link to login to your personal guest portal. This portal will provide essential details about your vacation rental, such as directions to the property, key access, appliance usage instructions, Wi-Fi code, restaurant recommendations, and check-out procedures.

Mail & Package Delivery

USPS does not deliver to your vacation rental home. Mail sent via USPS will be returned. Use FedEx or UPS for deliveries during your stay. Do not leave food deliveries unattended. It will attract wildlife, especially bears.
If you need to send packages before your arrival, contact our office to arrange delivery to our business address via UPS or FedEx.
With Ship Skis you can arrange door-to-door transportation for your ski gear and luggage straight to your Tahoe Luxury Properties vacation rental and back home.

Patio furniture is available from Memorial Day Weekend through early fall (weather permitting). Furniture is stored during winter months to prevent damage.
Most homes have gas BBQs available year-round. Please inquire if this is an essential amenity for your winter stay. Charcoal grills, wood-burning fire pits, and open flames are strictly prohibited.
On Red Flag Warning days (high fire risk), the use of gas BBQs and fire pits are strictly prohibited. It is Renter's responsibility to know if a red flag warning has been issued. Stay informed by tuning into 1630 AM radio; following the North Tahoe Fire Protection District on Facebook or Twitter (X); checking signage outside district fire stations; reviewing the National Weather Service forecast. Bear Safety

Black bears are active in both Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Improper food storage can lead to serious property damage and safety issues. Do not leave food, trash, or scented items outdoors or in your vehicle. Always lock the doors and windows of the home and your car when unattended. Intentionally leaving food out for bears is illegal. Review our Bear Aware Addendum for more information on staying safe and protecting our local wildlife.

Boating: Buoys & Piers

If your rental includes buoy or pier access, please refer to the Buoy, Mooring Line, and Pier Addendum for full details.

Piers are for pick-up/drop-off only (max 30 minutes). Never leave boats unattended or anchored without supervision.
Lake Tahoe water levels varying depending on seasonal snowfall, affecting the depth for safe pier access.
Check weather conditions before venturing out and be advised that Lake Tahoe weather can change quickly.

Winter Driving (Nov 1st – April 30th)

Driving in the snow-covered mountains of California and Nevada can be both enjoyable and occasionally challenging. Roads and driveways may be steep or icy, and conditions can change quickly. To ensure safe and smooth travel, the California Highway Patrol offers valuable winter driving tips. You can find more information from the CHP here. Make sure your vehicle is winter-ready, with brakes, tires, wipers, and the heater all in top condition. All vehicles, including AWD/4WD, should carry properly-sized tire chains.

Short-Term Rental County Rules

TLUXP manages homes across five counties, each with specific regulations for short-term rental permits. We appreciate your cooperation in following these rules, which are also included in your signed Vacation Rental Agreement.

Maximum Occupancy: No gatherings, events, weddings, or group functions exceeding the occupancy limit listed in your agreement are allowed.
Parking: Street parking is prohibited. All vehicles, boats, and trailers must be parked in the garage or driveway.
Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are from 9 pm to 8 am, seven days a week. Noise should not be heard from the property line. Please keep noise levels low to avoid disturbing neighbors.
Lights Out: Exterior lights must be turned off between 10 pm and 7 am unless necessary for safety. All lights must be turned off to prevent nuisance to neighbors.
Trash: Due to wildlife in the area, trash must be stored in the metal, bear-resistant trash bin provided. Trash day is posted at the home. Do not leave trash outside.
Hot Tub: The hot tub can only be used between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm.
Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside or outside the home.
