Peaks and Pines at Northstar
Northstar
Tucked into a private corner at the end of a cul-de-sac in Northstar’s beautiful Big Springs neighborhood, Peaks and Pines offers an inviting blend of mountain scenery, thoughtful comfort, and an exceptional location. Situated across the street from the Timberline chairlift, this four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath retreat puts mountain adventure close at hand while providing a peaceful place to unwind. Whether you arrive to find fresh snow blanketing the forest or sunshine filtering through the pines, this is a home that invites you to settle in and savor your time in Tahoe.
The great room is the heart of the home, where floor-to-ceiling windows bring the surrounding landscape into view. Towering pine trees frame vistas toward Castle Peak in the distance, creating a beautiful backdrop for everything from a quiet morning with coffee to a lively evening with family and friends. On winter afternoons, watch snowflakes drift gently through the trees as you warm up beside the fireplace. With the mountains just outside and the people you love gathered nearby, it is easy to let the day unfold at a slower pace.
Designed for gathering, the main living spaces offer room to reconnect over shared meals, conversation, and plans for the next day’s adventures. Mornings might begin with breakfast before heading to the slopes, while evenings invite everyone to linger over dinner and trade stories from the day. The forest views and comfortable setting make time spent at home every bit as appealing as time spent exploring.
The home’s layout is especially welcoming for guests who appreciate easy access. Both the primary suite and a second guest suite are located on the entry level, allowing guests in these bedrooms to enjoy the ease of one-level living. With the main gathering spaces and two inviting bedroom retreats on the same floor, the layout works beautifully for couples traveling together or families bringing multiple generations. After a full day outdoors, the primary suite offers a restful place to retreat, while the second guest suite provides another comfortable and conveniently located space to settle in.
Downstairs, a cozy family room gives your group an additional place to spread out. Put on a favorite movie, let the kids enjoy their own television time, or take a little quiet time while others gather upstairs. A dedicated office is another thoughtful feature, offering a separate place to handle a few emails or catch up on work before rejoining the fun. Having these additional spaces makes it easy to balance togetherness with the occasional need for privacy.
Outside, the hot tub promises a soothing finish to an active day. After skiing, hiking, or exploring Northstar, sink into the warm water and enjoy the fresh mountain air. When evening arrives, gather around the fire pit to roast marshmallows, share stories, and stretch a wonderful day just a little longer. These simple moments—rosy cheeks after a day on the slopes, laughter around the fire, and time together beneath the pines often become the memories everyone takes home.
For winter visitors, Peaks and Pines is a skier’s dream. Its location across from the Timberline chairlift places you wonderfully close to the mountain, while convenient shuttle service provides easy access to the slopes and the Village at Northstar. Spend your days exploring the mountain, then return to the comfort of your own retreat for a relaxed afternoon by the fireplace. From the first snowfall to the longer days of spring skiing, the home offers a welcoming base for enjoying Northstar’s winter season.
Summer brings an entirely different way to experience this beautiful setting. Directly out the back door, connect with the Tompkins Memorial Trail and discover 17 miles of scenic hiking and forested paths. Head out for an energizing morning walk, plan a longer outing through the trees, or simply enjoy the freedom of exploring without first loading everyone into the car. With the trail so close, a little outdoor adventure can become part of every day.
Guests also enjoy access to the Northstar Property Owners Association amenities, adding even more ways to fill a summer afternoon or round out a mountain getaway. Enjoy the swimming pool, challenge family and friends to tennis or pickleball, relax in the hot tubs, or maintain your workout routine at the fitness center. With so many options, everyone can find their own balance of activity and relaxation.
The Village at Northstar is another delightful part of the experience, offering a convenient destination for dining, shopping, and spending time together beyond the home. Take the shuttle to enjoy the village atmosphere, then return to your quiet corner of Big Springs when you are ready to unwind.
Whether you envision a winter vacation filled with skiing and fireside evenings or a summer escape spent wandering forest trails and relaxing beneath the pines, Peaks and Pines offers a beautiful setting for it all. With its desirable location, convenient entry-level suites, welcoming gathering spaces, and inviting outdoor amenities, this is a home where your vacation can be as adventurous, or as wonderfully unhurried, as you wish.
