NORTHSTAR PROPERTY OWNER ASSOCIATION AMENITIES
The NPOA Recreation Center provides guests with access to three pools (lap pool open year round), two hot tubs, dry saunas, fitness facility, tennis courts, summer camps and clinics, basketball, kids' playground, massages and summer activities for a daily guest fee. Free shuttles operate between Northstar homes and the Village center.
The Village at Northstar offers dining, entertainment, spa services, and shopping options with numerous restaurants and shops, a movie theater, ice skating/roller skating rink, and more. Please note that during the Spring and Fall seasons, when Northstar's winter and summer mountain operations are closed, the Village restaurants and retail outlets run on a modified schedule. Expect limited dining and shopping options during these periods - typically between the end of ski season through late June and after Labor Day through mid-November.

Travel Insurance 

Travel Insurance is offered through Rental Guardian. If you purchase travel insurance, it is designed to cover prepaid, nonrefundable expenses in the event of certain unforeseen circumstances that may impact your trip. Travel protection may be purchased directly through our secure portal at any time during the booking process, and in some cases may be added to an existing reservation, subject to eligibility requirements. Please note: Travel insurance is not available for reservations over $150,000. 

The two coverage options are Standard Travel Protection or Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) Protection. The Standard Travel Protection is available to residents of the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec), and select international countries. Coverage may be purchased at the time of booking or up to 24 hours prior to check-in. The Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) Protection is available to residents of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec and New York). This coverage must be purchased within 14 days of the initial booking and is not available for reservations made within 30 days of arrival.

Standard Travel Protection is available to residents of the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec), and select international countries. Coverage may be purchased at the time of booking or up to 24 hours prior check-in.

Pet Policy 

Not all homes allow pets. For the homes that consider pets, written approval is required PRIOR to allowing any pet to be present at the property at any time. If approval is granted, a Pet Addendum must be signed and a pet fee must be paid. Only approved dogs are permitted. Dogs under one year of age, cats, or any other pets are not allowed. We are happy to assist in locating a dog-friendly home for you. 

What is Provided at Your Vacation Rental Home 

Our homes are fully stocked with essentials so you can relax upon arrival. Before packing, view our complete Home Supply List. Once the booking is confirmed you will be provided a link to login to your personal guest portal. This portal will provide essential details about your vacation rental, such as directions to the property, key access, appliance usage instructions, Wi-Fi code, restaurant recommendations, and check-out procedures. 

Mail & Package Delivery 

USPS does not deliver to your vacation rental home. Mail sent via USPS will be returned. Use FedEx or UPS for deliveries during your stay. Do not leave food deliveries unattended. It will attract wildlife, especially bears. 

If you need to send packages before your arrival, contact our office to arrange delivery to our business address via UPS or FedEx. 

With Ship Skis you can arrange door-to-door transportation for your ski gear and luggage straight to your Tahoe Luxury Properties vacation rental and back home.  

Outdoor Furniture, BBQ Grills & Fire Pits 

Patio furniture is available from Memorial Day Weekend through early fall (weather permitting). Furniture is stored during winter months to prevent damage. 

Most homes have gas BBQs available year-round. Please inquire if this is an essential amenity for your winter stay. Charcoal grills, wood-burning fire pits, and open flames are strictly prohibited. 

On Red Flag Warning days (high fire risk), the use of gas BBQs and fire pits are strictly prohibited. It is Renter's responsibility to know if a red flag warning has been issued. Stay informed by tuning into 1630 AM radio; following the North Tahoe Fire Protection District on Facebook or Twitter (X); checking signage outside district fire stations; reviewing the National Weather Service forecast. Bear Safety 

Black bears are active in both Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Improper food storage can lead to serious property damage and safety issues. Do not leave food, trash, or scented items outdoors or in your vehicle. Always lock the doors and windows of the home and your car when unattended. Intentionally leaving food out for bears is illegal. Review our Bear Aware Addendum for more information on staying safe and protecting our local wildlife. 

Boating: Buoys & Piers 

If your rental includes buoy or pier access, please refer to the Buoy, Mooring Line, and Pier Addendum for full details. 

Piers are for pick-up/drop-off only (max 30 minutes). Never leave boats unattended or anchored without supervision. 

Lake Tahoe water levels varying depending on seasonal snowfall, affecting the depth for safe pier access.  

Check weather conditions before venturing out and be advised that Lake Tahoe weather can change quickly. 

Winter Driving (Nov 1st – April 30th) 

Driving in the snow-covered mountains of California and Nevada can be both enjoyable and occasionally challenging. Roads and driveways may be steep or icy, and conditions can change quickly. To ensure safe and smooth travel, the California Highway Patrol offers valuable winter driving tips. You can find more information from the CHP here. Make sure your vehicle is winter-ready, with brakes, tires, wipers, and the heater all in top condition. All vehicles, including AWD/4WD, should carry properly-sized tire chains.

Short-Term Rental County Rules 

Tahoe Luxury Properties manages homes across five counties, each with specific regulations for short-term rental permits. We appreciate your cooperation in following these rules, which are also included in your signed Vacation Rental Agreement. 

Maximum Occupancy: No gatherings, events, weddings, or group functions exceeding the occupancy limit listed in your agreement are allowed. 

Parking: Street parking is prohibited. All vehicles, boats, and trailers must be parked in the garage or driveway. 

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are from 9 pm to 8 am, seven days a week. Noise should not be heard from the property line. Please keep noise levels low to avoid disturbing neighbors. 

Lights Out: Exterior lights must be turned off between 10 pm and 7 am unless necessary for safety. All lights must be turned off to prevent nuisance to neighbors. 

Trash: Due to wildlife in the area, trash must be stored in the metal, bear-resistant trash bin provided. Trash day is posted at the home. Do not leave trash outside. 

Hot Tub: The hot tub can only be used between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm. 

Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside or outside the home.

Absolute Gem! Such a gem and perfect for celebrating with friends! The house was ideal for multiple families (with toddlers), with a spacious kitchen for easy stay-in dinners and a big living room that fit us all comfortably. The kitchen was well-stocked, which made cooking easy. Like many homes in the area, there’s no AC, so the third floor got warm, but extra fans and open windows helped. The husbands rode at Northstar while some of the wives enjoyed nearby trail runs. Requesting the shuttle via the app was simple and quick. The kids loved the pool, just note towels aren’t included and there’s an extra fee. We had an amazing time and would love to return in the winter to enjoy the fireplaces and hot tub in the snow!

Majestic and Magnificent ! If you only had one vacation home in your lifetime to use in North Lake Tahoe, I would highly recommend the SIlverfell Lodge at Northstar! The pictures on the TLUXP website are very accurate in displaying the unique features and amenities of Silverfell, but believe me, when you pull into the driveway and first step foot inside the Lodge, you will be overwhelmed by the sheer size of the home, solid construction, the interior and exterior layouts, and the abundance of open spaces. Our group consisted of four adult couples who are seasoned travelers, and we were very impressed with the overall floor plan of Silverfell and the high quality of its furnishings and kitchen appliances. Beds and baths were amply spread out for great privacy and noise isolation, and dual hot water tanks ensured that everyone had comfortable baths/showers at any time, day or night. Also, the location of Silverfell is in a very quiet cul-de-sac, which practically guarantees restful and uninterrupted sleep. There are many more amazing characteristics of this home that I could include in this review, but it would be much too lengthy to read - please refer to previous reviews for additional pertinent info. TLUXP carefully prepares the property for utmost cleanliness and flawless operation of all the appliances, plumbing and lighting fixtures in the home. Special mention to the Dietzs, Michael B, and Jennifer C for reaching out to us in making sure our stay was a top-notch experience. Of all the vaca homes I have rented throughout the years, Silverfell, along with the staff at TLUXP, rank at the very top of my list, and certainly warrants a return trip.

A Perfect Experience We cannot say enough good things about Tahoe Luxury Properties, or the chalet, Silverfell, that they prepared for us. Ten of us go on a ski holiday every Christmas, and Silverfell is the finest property we have ever let. It lacked for nothing. It is nice to have a rental that has every appointment we could have needed. We brought a chef, and the kitchen was not only stocked with all the spices and equipment she would need, but it had place settings for twelve and the space to seat everyone. There was no need for that first-day trip to the store to get all the things that most kitchens should already have. We were fully stocked. It is particularly nice that no expense was spared on every accouterment; the coffee mugs are very large and plentiful, the kitchen knives are legitimate, there is gradient heating in the floors, there are lots of throw pillows, the bedding is well layered, and the bedroom cupboards have more pillow and blanket options… you get the point. The two-car garage is attached to a large Mud Room that had plenty of room for all our skis, hooks for our coats, and shelves for our individual gloves, hats, helmets, and gear. It is such a time saver to be getting ready to go out and not have to search through the pile of glove liners to find my own. It is even nicer that the washer/dryer are right there, so on the one rainy day when everyone was soaked, we were not forced to hang clothes in every bathroom. The Great Room is ideal for cards and has enough large tables so we could start jigsaw puzzles, as well as the year-end New York Times mega-crossword, and there is plenty of comfortable seating to watch the big screen. It is nice to have big gas fireplaces (in both the Living room and the Master Bedroom), as well as a hot tub located just two steps out of the living room door. We used the tub every day, and it is typical of the type of service provided by Tahoe Luxury Properties that there was a basket of towels just inside the living room door for when we came in from the tub. We did not have to bring down our bath towels. The showers are hot and the water pressure more than adequate, and the steam shower in the Master bath is a great post-ski option. Dealing with Tahoe Luxury Properties is like dealing with the most luxe of Five-Star resorts. They do everything first class. There were a ton of variables on this vacation: can we bring the dog, is there room if my college roommate stops by for two nights, do we have to fly into Reno, and even though Epic is closed…can we arrange Epic Mix Passes? All these issues (and many more) were dealt with swiftly and purposefully by Jessie and Danni. Nothing was ever a problem to them. For example, we were arriving from all over the world, and we had shipped things in advance. We did not have to go to the Rental Office to pick up our gear; the folks from Tahoe Luxury Properties delivered all the goods that were waiting for us when we arrived late Tuesday night. It is such a comforting feeling of relief to walk in the door and see our skis already there. A notable example of TLUXP's thoroughness was their suggestion for me to rent from Reno Tahoe Rental Car, 607 reviews, every one of them a 5-star. What other rental car service has ever said, “You don’t have to fill it with gas upon return. We will take it to Costco and fill it for you? I would not have rented from them, but it was the perfect suggestion from Jessie at TLUXP. It is such a pleasure to deal with such competent, caring people, and we look forward to returning soon.

Fantastic and Wonderful Stay! Fantastic and wonderful stay! The pictures don't do justice to how beautiful the home is. Check-in was a breeze, and we all felt instantly at home. The house is stocked with everything you need to ensure a comfortable and warm stay. Everything from the beds to the hot tub helped us all relax and unwind. The kids also loved the board games and the sleds. And we all loved the convenience to Northstar and the shuttle service! We will definitely be back!
