Travel Insurance 

Travel Insurance is offered through Rental Guardian. If you purchase travel insurance, it is designed to cover prepaid, nonrefundable expenses in the event of certain unforeseen circumstances that may impact your trip. Travel protection may be purchased directly through our secure portal at any time during the booking process, and in some cases may be added to an existing reservation, subject to eligibility requirements. Please note: Travel insurance is not available for reservations over $150,000. 

The two coverage options are Standard Travel Protection or Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) Protection. The Standard Travel Protection is available to residents of the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec), and select international countries. Coverage may be purchased at the time of booking or up to 24 hours prior to check-in. Pet Policy 

Not all homes allow pets. For the homes that consider pets, written approval is required PRIOR to allowing any pet to be present at the property at any time. If approval is granted, a Pet Addendum must be signed and a pet fee must be paid. Only approved dogs are permitted. Dogs under one year of age, cats, or any other pets are not allowed. We are happy to assist in locating a dog-friendly home for you. 

What is Provided at Your Vacation Rental Home 

Our homes are fully stocked with essentials so you can relax upon arrival. Before packing, view our complete Home Supply List. Once the booking is confirmed you will be provided a link to login to your personal guest portal. This portal will provide essential details about your vacation rental, such as directions to the property, key access, appliance usage instructions, Wi-Fi code, restaurant recommendations, and check-out procedures. 

Mail & Package Delivery 

USPS does not deliver to your vacation rental home. Mail sent via USPS will be returned. Use FedEx or UPS for deliveries during your stay. Do not leave food deliveries unattended. It will attract wildlife, especially bears. 

If you need to send packages before your arrival, contact our office to arrange delivery to our business address via UPS or FedEx. 

With Ship Skis you can arrange door-to-door transportation for your ski gear and luggage straight to your Tahoe Luxury Properties vacation rental and back home.  

Outdoor Furniture, BBQ Grills & Fire Pits 

Patio furniture is available from Memorial Day Weekend through early fall (weather permitting). Furniture is stored during winter months to prevent damage. 

Most homes have gas BBQs available year-round. Please inquire if this is an essential amenity for your winter stay. Charcoal grills, wood-burning fire pits, and open flames are strictly prohibited. 

On Red Flag Warning days (high fire risk), the use of gas BBQs and fire pits are strictly prohibited. It is Renter's responsibility to know if a red flag warning has been issued. Stay informed by tuning into 1630 AM radio; following the North Tahoe Fire Protection District on Facebook or Twitter (X); checking signage outside district fire stations; reviewing the National Weather Service forecast. Bear Safety 

Black bears are active in both Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Improper food storage can lead to serious property damage and safety issues. Do not leave food, trash, or scented items outdoors or in your vehicle. Always lock the doors and windows of the home and your car when unattended. Intentionally leaving food out for bears is illegal. Review our Bear Aware Addendum for more information on staying safe and protecting our local wildlife. 

Boating: Buoys & Piers 

If your rental includes buoy or pier access, please refer to the Buoy, Mooring Line, and Pier Addendum for full details. 

Piers are for pick-up/drop-off only (max 30 minutes). Never leave boats unattended or anchored without supervision. 

Lake Tahoe water levels varying depending on seasonal snowfall, affecting the depth for safe pier access.  

Check weather conditions before venturing out and be advised that Lake Tahoe weather can change quickly. 

Winter Driving (Nov 1st – April 30th) 

Driving in the snow-covered mountains of California and Nevada can be both enjoyable and occasionally challenging. Roads and driveways may be steep or icy, and conditions can change quickly. To ensure safe and smooth travel, the California Highway Patrol offers valuable winter driving tips. You can find more information from the CHP here. Make sure your vehicle is winter-ready, with brakes, tires, wipers, and the heater all in top condition. All vehicles, including AWD/4WD, should carry properly-sized tire chains.

Short-Term Rental County Rules 

Tahoe Luxury Properties manages homes across five counties, each with specific regulations for short-term rental permits. We appreciate your cooperation in following these rules, which are also included in your signed Vacation Rental Agreement. 

Maximum Occupancy: No gatherings, events, weddings, or group functions exceeding the occupancy limit listed in your agreement are allowed. 

Parking: Street parking is prohibited. All vehicles, boats, and trailers must be parked in the garage or driveway. 

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are from 9 pm to 8 am, seven days a week. Noise should not be heard from the property line. Please keep noise levels low to avoid disturbing neighbors. 

Lights Out: Exterior lights must be turned off between 10 pm and 7 am unless necessary for safety. All lights must be turned off to prevent nuisance to neighbors. 

Trash: Due to wildlife in the area, trash must be stored in the metal, bear-resistant trash bin provided. Trash day is posted at the home. Do not leave trash outside. 

Hot Tub: The hot tub can only be used between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm. 

Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside or outside the home.

Ski Weekend Holiday Dream! What a beautiful and comfortable home in Tahoe City. We spent a lovely and relaxing long weekend here (with 4 couples) for a ski weekend at Palisades. The kitchen is amazing, every bedroom comfy, and the spa made the stay particularly special.

Well kept house close to the water Beautiful house that is well maintained and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Water was only 7-8 minute walk from the home. We came for skiing, and we were able to access Palidades and Alpine Resort in less than 20 minutes by car.

Amazing House Our group loved the house, it had everything we needed, and it was beautiful. Just one suggestion: None of the bathrooms had a lock, and for a 10 person group, it was a little uncomfortable to use a bathroom that you could not lock the door. Nevertheless, we created a system and a sign that said "busy" (haha), and we very much enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous Multi-Family Visit The house was lovely and in a great location! We were two families of 5 and fit perfectly. We alternated eating out and cooking in during our stay - the kitchen was well-outfitted, including an outdoor grill. And, it's easy to go out, too -- nearby in Tahoe City or a bit further afield. Overall, it was a great skiing vacation - getting to/from Palisades and Alpine is super easy. Loved it!

Perfect Place We had an absolutely amazing stay. The house is beautiful and in a perfect location. Close enough to town to walk to the beach and restaurants but far enough to be quiet and peaceful in the evenings. Everything was clean, and the house was well stocked with plenty of towels, linens, kitchen supplies, and beach equipment. It was the perfect vacation for our family and friends. Looking forward to next year!

Wonderful and comfortable house We had a fantastic time at this house. Although it's managed by a property management company, it doesn't feel like a hotel or a sterile space; it's somebody's well-taken-care-of home. The property managers were fantastic, too, with great communication and a very warm and welcoming spirit. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us, 5 adults and 5 kids, with all the kids staying in the bunk room (which, with 5 kids, got a little hot and stuffy for my taste, but they didn't seem to mind). The two master bedrooms are very comfortable with fantastic and big attached bathrooms, and the 3rd bedroom is plenty big but with no attached bathroom. The beds were all very comfortable, with new sheets, plenty of towels in the house, etc. The kitchen is well stocked with all the equipment we needed to make big breakfasts and dinners. The kids hung out in the downstairs tv area and outside, where they spent hours and hours building a sledding run and snow forts and having snowball fights. They never needed to leave the property, even though it looked like there were some great woods across and a little down the street if somebody wanted more space for snow adventures. The neighbors were very nice and didn't seem to mind our kids being out there so much (and the reality is we could barely hear them inside our house, so I assume the same is true of the neighbors). The game room was not a hit for our kids, mainly because it required going outside to access it. I suspect it would be more used in warmer weather, although I also heard from the kids that the stuff in there (foosball table etc) was kind of worn out and tired, so not very competitive with the vids our kids brought and the snow fort situation outside. The location of the house is fantastic, too. All in all a great house that we hope to rent again next winter!

Palisades Perfection I’ve stayed in many home rentals over the years and Tahoe City Serenity was the best experience I’ve ever had. It started with clear, regular communication from the property management team and easy to understand instructions to access the home. The photos online were an exact match to the condition and amenities of the property. It was light, bright and had a lovely forest view from every window. Perfect balance of homey without being over-decorated or cluttered. The beds were high quality and comfortable. The linens and towels were also very good. Even the toilet paper was quilted Charmin. Every dish, pan and utensil that we needed was available with lots of seasonings in the pantry. There were shovels, snowball makers and sleds available in the garage. The laundry room was huge and well stocked with high capacity washer and dryer. My three generation family of nine was very comfortable and this home could easily accommodate 3 families. The proximity to grocery, restaurants, lake and Palisades was awesome. We will come again!

Spacious, Comfortable and Cozy Spacious, comfortable, cozy and modern at the same time! Between the two levels there is a ton of space for multiple families. The kitchen was really well stocked with high quality dishes, pots, pans, etc. Super comfortable beds in every room. Lovely, large windows to watch the snow fall! Super Bowl Weekend We had a great vacation at Tahoe City Serenity. We had a multigenerational group and the house suited us perfectly. The game room was a fun space for the teenagers & the toddlers had plenty of room to play. The staff at Tahoe Luxury Properties were very helpful and they made sure the house was ready and inviting upon our arrival. Wonderful Home! Tahoe City Serenity is a wonderful home. While it does not have a lakeview, it is located on a quiet cul de sac surrounded by trees. A sunny and spacious back deck overlooks open, forested space and the deck is a perfect place to relax, enjoy a cocktail, or read a book. The house itself has an open floor plan on the main floor with a great, long, dining room table perfect for large groups. The downstairs includes a large bedroom with an en suite bathroom and this is ideal for couples or combined families sharing the home. The detached garage has a small game room with air hockey and foosball; it's perfect for tweens and teenagers. Serenity describes this home perfectly but it's only a short walk to the funky and cool shops and restaurants in Tahoe City. We've stayed at this home multiple times and love it! We hope to return again. Also, the booking process with Tahoe Luxury Properties was simple, efficient, and problem free. Kudos to Tahoe Luxury Properties for their approach to rentals. I've rented properties throughout the state using various websites and Tahoe Luxury Properties remains the gold standard in rentals.

A Glorious Weekend at Serenity We (the 9 of us) spent a glorious week at Serenity. What a surprise to find a completely furnished kitchen with a few extras like spices. The spaciousness of the house provided a terrific gathering space for our crew and the other 8 family members who stayed in another house. The scenery provided by the trees was beautiful and a grand addition to the splendor of Lake Tahoe. I have no doubt that we will be here again some time in the future.

Absolutely Perfect! What a find! This was our first and certainly won't be our last stay at Serenity. Everything about this cabin was absolutely PERFECT! Where do I start ... 1. Location - loved being a walk away from town 2. Ambience - yet it was secluded enough thanks to all the beautiful trees and the creek 3. Plenty of room - we had nine people 4. Open concept - love that you felt connected when everyone was upstairs 5. Spa and Game room - great additions 6. Wrap around deck - loved this 7. Dog friendly - this was our dog Minnie's first tahoe adventure. She loved it and met some friends along the way in locals Bennie and Molly. Thank you! We will be back.

Phenomena Ski Stay Phenomenal ski stay at Serenity in Tahoe City. Home is well equipped for any large parties with extra treats in the pantry to boost. TLUXP had excellent service from prior to booking till check out. Kitchen and living room provide an ample amount of open space with high vaulted ceilings. The deck facing the woods provides plenty of greenery between neighbors. Beds and couches are beyond comfortable. Would stay again

Close to town We had two families stay for a summer week and loved this house. It’s well laid out and appointed with nice beds, sheets, appliances, etc. Dowtown TC and the lake are walkable and at worst a short drive. We had minor issues and Tahoe Luxury Properties was responsive and helpful. It was an excellent experience and would definitely stay here again.

Great Spot! Nice house, very similar to photos with nice open layout in the kitchen / living / dining areas. Loved that it was very close to main drag of Tahoe City but felt like you were removed and in the woods. Everything we needed was there for a comfortable stay and the management company was super responsive and helpful with check out.

Great Tahoe rental! Tahoe Serenity was a perfect property for our stay with one other family after Christmas! It is a well thought out/planned home - especially with children. We could easily watch them in the spa while making dinner and they had their own area downstairs to watch movies. Everything was well stocked and linens were fabulous! Wonderful House! My family and I stayed in the Tahoe City Serenity House for a week this summer and it was absolutely perfect. The location is ideal as it is a nice walk to town but is very quiet. From the back of the house all you see is forest so you have the impression of being totally removed from the hustle and bustle of Tahoe City, but all the convenience of being close to everything. The home is spacious and comfortable, with a second common area on the lower level which came in handy when my little grandson was put to bed in the upstairs bedroom. My bed was SO comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. A large deck on two sides of the house (plus another on the lower level) provided plenty of seating for outdoor dining and star gazing, and the hot tub was great. The dining room table was enormous and had enough chairs for us all to sit comfortably. Best of all was the fabulous kitchen which was amazingly well equipped. We also made good use of the gas grill on the deck. Included in the home were many extras that made our visit so much fun: games for all ages, music and movies, and books. Tahoe Luxury Properties was great to work with and provided excellent service. When my daughter-in-law wanted to make waffles but couldn't find the waffle iron that had been listed with the other amenities, a brand new one was delivered to our door. Very, very impressive! We will all long remember our wonderful week and will be dreaming of a repeat trip to Serenity.

Fun Me and my friends had a wonderful time here. We stayed here for two nights. I liked going in the game room. I had my Mom's birthday here and I did a lot more. It was so fun to be able to build forts and put on a magic show for my parents. I like that this house is big. Also, my parents did a singing competition with the other families. I also like that there are three front porches. I had a lot of fun.

Great!! Having never experienced a 90th birthday, I didn't know what to expect. It was GREAT! Great place, great weather, great family celebration. Nothing but happy memories. Being 4'8" everything was high including the bed. But I got my stretching exercise and got in good physical condition. Reluctant to leave.

Perfect Tahoe Serenity is absolutely perfect! Great location, perfect accommodations for a group stay. We had such an amazing time - and we even got rained on in one day! Puzzles + hot tub + fireplace = great time. Thanks so much!

Above and Beyond Expectations Tahoe Serenity was above and beyond expectations. There was wine upon arrival, and they even left me a birthday cake from a bakery in Tahoe City! Rooms were large and well decorated. I would definitely love to stay here again.

Amazing house Thank you so much for the amazing house! Being up here Christmas week was perfect. From the snow to the skiing to the constant sun! It was great to come back from a long day skiing at Squaw to a cozy fire and hot tub! The kids loved it just as much as we did!
