Tewesi Manor - Lakefront

Carnelian Bay

9 Bedrooms 8.5 Bathrooms 16 Guests 5857 Square Feet

Discover the timeless elegance of Tewesi Manor, a truly authentic Tahoe estate. Inspired by the historic Ehrman Mansion and 1902 Tahoe Tavern, details like turrets, dormers, angles and exterior colors and textures highlight this extraordinary lakefront home. This exceptional property feels as if it was designed by the renowned Walter Danforth Bliss himself, standing on Tahoe’s shoreline since the early 1900s. Named after the Washoe Native American Tribe's word for "people from far away," Tewesi Manor embodies the true spirit of Lake Tahoe, welcoming guests from near and far to a place where history, beauty, and modern luxury blend effortlessly. With its private pier, expansive shoreline, iconic Old Tahoe style, and unmatched access to outdoor adventure, Tewesi Manor stands as one of the finest luxury lakefront rentals in Lake Tahoe, offering an idyllic experience that feels deeply meaningful and truly memorable.

Tewesi welcomes guests into a world where classic Tahoe character, refined craftsmanship, and unforgettable lakefront living come together seamlessly. A granite cobblestone driveway meanders through impeccably landscaped grounds before opening to 200 feet of private lake frontage, a rare retreat offering tranquility just steps from Tahoe’s top restaurants, ski resorts, and year-round recreation. Spend your days enjoying an unparalleled suite of lakefront amenities, including a private pier, swim platform, and a dedicated buoy that accommodates boats up to 36 feet. A rubber-sided tender makes accessing your boat simple, while stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, and lake toys invite endless on-the-water adventure. Numerous decks and lakefront dining spaces with built-in heaters blur the line between indoor comfort and outdoor beauty, while a secluded lakeside hot tub offers a front-row seat to sunrise over the water or the soft alpenglow that settles on the mountains each evening.

Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows frame panoramic lake and mountain views, with warm wood interiors, thoughtful textures, and historic-inspired detailing at every turn. The inviting great room features a billiards table, a crackling fireplace, and an impressive leather-bound library, while the upstairs family room offers shuffleboard, a wet bar, comfy chairs and TV, providing cozy entertainment after days spent exploring the Tahoe shoreline. Beautiful coffered ceilings and cabinetry painted in warm tones create a comfortable atmosphere in the kitchen, and a butler’s pantry provides extra storage. The 18-foot radius staircase is the heart of the home, a spiraling masterpiece made of laminated curving wood and twisting steel. The lines of the landing and surrounding rooms echo the staircase’s sweeping shape. The estate’s crown jewel however is the masterfully designed primary suite, once described by a luxury-hotel owner as the finest suite he had ever had the privilege of enjoying. Guests wake to sweeping 180° lake views, step onto a private balcony with sun loungers, and unwind beside the fireplace or in a spa-style ensuite complete with claw foot soaking tub, steam shower, bidet, and walk-in closet. Three additional ensuite bedrooms, each with private or shared balcony access offer serene retreats for family and friends. Downstairs, the en suite bathroom has grab rails and a handheld shower. Three half bathrooms are located by the garage, near the back door (for lake-goers), and a powder room by the front.

Step back in time and settle into the warmth and charm of Gingerbread Cottage, a rare lakefront treasure on the shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe. At over 100 years old, this historic cabin has been lovingly preserved in its original condition, offering an authentic old-Tahoe experience filled with comfort, character, and cozy ambiance. From the moment you walk through the front door, you’re welcomed by the unmistakable feeling of a classic mountain retreat. The large wood-burning fireplace creates the perfect gathering spot after a day on the lake or exploring the outdoors, filling the living space with warmth and rustic charm. The kitchen is equipped for home-style meals and lakeside gatherings. Kindly note: In keeping with its charming, historic design, the bedrooms are smaller with low ceilings typical of old cabin architecture. Whether you’re enjoying coffee by the water, gathering around the fireplace, or simply soaking in the peaceful lakefront setting, Gingerbread Cottage offers a truly special and nostalgic Lake Tahoe getaway.

Outdoors, manicured lakeside lawns create a perfect setting for gatherings, games, or quiet afternoons by the water, while a charming teepee tucked into the foliage adds a sense of whimsy for both children and adults. Tewesi offers with both luxury and privacy, ideal for intimate family stays, executive retreats, and travelers seeking the ultimate Tahoe lakefront vacation rental experience.

Guests may also elevate their stay with TLUXP’s premium concierge services, including private chef experiences, pre-arrival grocery stocking, boat and jet ski rentals, and personalized itinerary planning to enjoy everything North Lake Tahoe has to offer.

The Standard Travel Protection is available to residents of the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec), and select international countries. Coverage may be purchased at the time of booking or up to 24 hours prior to check-in. The Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) Protection is available to residents of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec and New York). Outdoor Furniture, BBQ Grills & Fire Pits

Patio furniture is available from Memorial Day Weekend through early fall (weather permitting). Furniture is stored during winter months to prevent damage.

Most homes have gas BBQs available year-round. Please inquire if this is an essential amenity for your winter stay. Charcoal grills, wood-burning fire pits, and open flames are strictly prohibited.

On Red Flag Warning days (high fire risk), the use of gas BBQs and fire pits are strictly prohibited. It is Renter's responsibility to know if a red flag warning has been issued. Stay informed by tuning into 1630 AM radio; following the North Tahoe Fire Protection District on Facebook or Twitter (X); checking signage outside district fire stations; reviewing the National Weather Service forecast. See here.

Bear Safety

Black bears are active in both Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Improper food storage can lead to serious property damage and safety issues. Do not leave food, trash, or scented items outdoors or in your vehicle. Always lock the doors and windows of the home and your car when unattended. Intentionally leaving food out for bears is illegal. Review our Bear Aware Addendum for more information on staying safe and protecting our local wildlife.

Boating: Buoys & Piers

If your rental includes buoy or pier access, please refer to the Buoy, Mooring Line, and Pier Addendum for full details.

Piers are for pick-up/drop-off only (max 30 minutes). Never leave boats unattended or anchored without supervision.

Lake Tahoe water levels varying depending on seasonal snowfall, affecting the depth for safe pier access.

Check weather conditions before venturing out and be advised that Lake Tahoe weather can change quickly.

Winter Driving (Nov 1st – April 30th)

Make sure your vehicle is winter-ready, with brakes, tires, wipers, and the heater all in top condition. All vehicles, including AWD/4WD, should carry properly-sized tire chains.
