Classical Tahoe

Each summer, Classical Tahoe brings together world-renowned classical musicians for a three-week music festival and institute on the campus of Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada.

Under the direction of Maestro Joel Revzen, the Classical Tahoe Orchestra includes virtuoso musicians from ensembles such as the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhaus, San Francisco Symphony, Seattle Symphony and the LA Philharmonic to perform the musical masterpieces of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Bernstein, Copland and more.

Classical Tahoe’s 11-concert series, now in its 7th season, delights audiences with its superb musicians, intimate pavilion, multi-generational education programs, and majestic setting.

Their 7th season has so much to enjoy – a World Premiere by Chris Brubeck, written for guest artists Jaime Laredo and Sharon Robinson; opera star Ekaterina Semenchuk direct from the Metropolitan Opera and San Francisco Opera; fiery Spanish pianist and Chopin specialist Leonel Morales, an expanded orchestra for all six orchestra concerts, plus three uplifting Chamber concerts and three wonderful events to attend!

The 2018 Classical Tahoe Summer Gala, a benefit event for Classical Tahoe, features a performance by three-time Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis. Set for July 8, 2018 at the lakefront estate of Kern Schumacher in Incline Village, Nevada, the event promises to be more thrilling than ever: Marsalis is joined by the wunderkind pianist Peter Dugan, a delicious feast by Colin Smith of Roundabout Catering and an auction with one-of-a-kind experiences – all to benefit arts, culture, and learning at Lake Tahoe.

Classical Tahoe is excited to announce the launch of the Music Institute to inspire active participation in the arts and foster community engagement. Imagine… a string quartet surprising you with pop-up performances where you least expect them, music concerts tailored to kids, families enjoying favorite movie musicals together in the Pavilion, amateur singers joining together to sing familiar tunes, bag-lunch discussions after a rehearsal, jazz great Chris Brubeck coaching local area jazz students… and the list goes on. Classical Tahoe will present classes, concerts and outreach events specifically tailored to encourage music engagement for all ages and abilities.
