Shore Camp is on the lake in Tahoe City, in the Tahoe Tavern development, built on the expansive grounds of the former grand historic Tahoe Tavern hotel. Shore Camp is located over 800 feet from the nearest public road, offering complete peace and quiet. Adults can enjoy the relaxing setting, while kids can safely explore the lakefront and surrounding forest, including a sledding hill in winter. Additionally, Tahoe Tavern offers visitors access to its private pier, the largest on Lake Tahoe, and, in summer only, a large swimming pool. Tahoe Tavern is not open to the public, and during peak months, access is controlled by a gated entrance staffed by security guards.
- The latest in home technology ups the entertainment and convenience factors well beyond the norm. Ground level floors are wide plank French oak adorned with wool area rugs, while counter tops and the main fireplace were carved from beautiful natural stone slabs. Lighting is LED throughout and features dimmers to allow the perfect mood. WiFi is high speed Uverse. The living room has a 65" 4K ultra high definition flat panel TV (with 240 motion rate for the best in sports viewing!) with DVD player, DirecTV, Netflix, AppleTV, and 5.1 theater sound. Silent radiant heating warms the floors, with 2 separate zones downstairs.
The internet connection at Shore Camp has sufficient download capacity -- 7.5 Mbps download speed -- for watching multiple video streams (eg Netflix, other video, watching a Zoom video conference), but the upload capacity (0.5 Mbps upload speed) means only one video conference at a time will have good quality video uploads. More than one concurrent Zoom or other video conference will work, but upload video quality may be reduced. - Artwork showcases Lake Tahoe themes and history, especially an exhibition of over 150 actual Lake Tahoe postcards dating back more than 100 years.
- The entire ground floor, including great room, dining room and kitchen, plus the lakefront patio also on the ground level, enjoy unobstructed panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. Tahoe's natural shoreline is around 30' away. In warmer months, the lakefront patio features teak hardwood furniture, including a table that seats 8 or can be expanded in length (using its built in retractable leaf system) to seat 10, plus a giant cantilevered patio umbrella for unobstructed views. A Weber natural gas barbecue grill on the patio is sheltered to allow year round use.
- Upstairs, the primary suite offers lake views, a California King bed with 700 thread count bedding covering perhaps the best mattress available, stone flooring with area rugs, a cozy modern gas fireplace and super silent ceiling fan. Walk out onto the balcony to more fully appreciate Lake Tahoe’s majesty. The bathroom, open to the bedroom for a romantic experience that makes the most of the lake views, includes a standing shower, a two-person spa tub, beautiful natural stone covering the walls and counter tops and Turkish cotton towels from Restoration Hardware. The water closet is private, of course. Silent radiant heating warms the floors and allows you to select the perfect temperature just for the master suite. If too much sunlight bothers you in the morning, use the blackout shade for a nearly pitch black bedroom!
- The other three bedrooms upstairs feature soft wool carpeting, 700 thread count bedding on deluxe mattresses and silent electric heating with individual controls for each bedroom. One bedroom features lakefront views, access to the balcony overlooking Lake Tahoe, a queen sized bed and ceiling fan. Another features a queen sized bed along with a 46” 1080p flat panel TV with Blu-ray player, DirecTV and connectivity to Netflix and other internet services. The fourth bedroom features a California King sized bed, ceiling fan and en suite private access to the bathroom. That bathroom includes two sinks, a private separate room for the toilet and bathtub and Turkish cotton towels from Restoration Hardware.
- A full sized Electrolux washer and gas dryer are upstairs near the bedrooms.
- The chef’s kitchen features natural stone countertops, a Wolf 6-burner cooktop with convection oven, silent Miele dishwasher, stainless steel Electrolux fridge and freezer with dual ice makers, microwave oven, conventional Miele second oven, blender, toaster oven, KitchenAid mixer, waffle maker, crock pot, Wüsthof knives, dual Cuisinart coffee makers and all the pots, pans and cooking utensils you could need. Dishware, silverware and glasses are sufficient to serve 12-14 at a time. The dining table seats 10, plus a breakfast bar seats 3 and an additional pub table in the great room seats 4.
- The dining table makes for very special gatherings. Custom built for this space, it seats 10. Underneath the glass top are LED panels that will glow any color you choose. Or it will cycle through the whole rainbow. Perfect for adding a little more panache for your special time with family and friends!
- Shore Camp is a town home situated between 2 other town homes. Enter Shore Camp at ground level. The second floor features high ceilings and skylights, since there are no other units above. It is a gorgeous home infused with tons of natural light. If there is too much sunlight however, use the motorized shades to adjust the natural light at the touch of a button.

Vacation Rental Agreement
Please review our Vacation Rental Agreement, which outlines key provisions such as the cancellation policy, county rules and payment process. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Travel Insurance
We recommend purchasing travel insurance through Generali Global when signing your rental agreement. It helps protect your prepaid, nonrefundable trip costs in case of unforeseen events such as illness or lengthy road closures.
- For full coverage details, enter your "Application Date" (the purchase date or today’s date) and state of residence here. A policy number is not required.
- Travel insurance is not available for reservations over $100,000, for travel to destinations less than 100 miles from Renter’s primary residence, or for Renter's with a primary residence located outside of the United States.
Written Permission Required for Pets
Not all homes allow pets. Written approval for pets must be obtained PRIOR to allowing any pet to be present on or about the home. If approval is granted, a Pet Addendum must be signed. We are happy to assist in locating a pet friendly home for you.
What is Provided at Your Vacation Rental Home
Our homes are fully stocked with essentials so you can relax upon arrival. Before packing, view our complete Home Supply List. Once the booking is confirmed you will be provided a link to login to your personal guest portal. This portal will provide essential details about your vacation rental, such as directions to the property, key access, appliance usage instructions, Wi-Fi code, restaurant recommendations, and check-out procedures.
Mail & Package Delivery
- USPS does not deliver to your vacation rental home. Mail sent via USPS will be returned. Use FedEx or UPS for deliveries during your stay. Do not leave food deliveries unattended. It will attract wildlife, especially bears.

- With Ship Skis you can arrange door-to-door transportation for your ski gear and luggage straight to your Tahoe Luxury Properties vacation rental and back home.
Outdoor Furniture, BBQ Grills & Fire Pits
- Patio furniture is available from Memorial Day Weekend through early fall (weather permitting). Furniture is stored during winter months to prevent damage.
- Most homes have gas BBQs available year-round. Please inquire if this is an essential amenity for your winter stay. Charcoal grills, wood-burning fire pits, and open flames are strictly prohibited.
- On Red Flag Warning days (high fire risk), the use of gas BBQs and fire pits are strictly prohibited. It is Renter's responsibility to know if a red flag warning has been issued. Stay informed by tuning into 1630 AM radio; following the North Tahoe Fire Protection District on Facebook or Twitter (X); checking signage outside district fire stations; reviewing the National Weather Service forecast. See here.
Bear Safety
Black bears are active in both Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Improper food storage can lead to serious property damage and safety issues. Do not leave food, trash, or scented items outdoors or in your vehicle. Always lock the doors and windows of the home and your car when unattended. Intentionally leaving food out for bears is illegal. Review our Bear Aware Addendum for more information on staying safe and protecting our local wildlife.
Boating: Buoys & Piers
If your rental includes buoy or pier access, please refer to the Buoy, Mooring Line, and Pier Addendum for full details.
- Piers are for pick-up/drop-off only (max 30 minutes). Never leave boats unattended or anchored without supervision.
- Lake Tahoe water levels varying depending on seasonal snowfall, affecting the depth for safe pier access.

Driving in the snow-covered mountains of California and Nevada can be both enjoyable and occasionally challenging. Roads and driveways may be steep or icy, and conditions can change quickly. To ensure safe and smooth travel, the California Highway Patrol offers valuable winter driving tips. You can find more information from the CHP here. Make sure your vehicle is winter-ready, with brakes, tires, wipers, and the heater all in top condition. All vehicles, including AWD/4WD, should carry properly-sized tire chains.
